What's the difference between tethered and untethered?
Tethered chargers have their cable permanently attached, so you never need to worry about losing your charging cable. They are designed for those who just want to park up and plug-in for ease of use.

Untethered chargers, also known as universal chargers, have a socket for you to plug your manufacturer's cable into. They are called universal chargers as the cable required is industry-wide.
What do I need to consider to charge at home?
With Pod Point, 90% of customers are eligible for their standard installation at no extra cost.

The main considerations you need to take into account is normally where you park and how far away from the house this is. With a tethered charger, your cable will be a fixed length, designed to give most EV drivers enough length.

You can decide what is right for you, how often you will require to use the charger, and what requirements you need before purchasing.
How much does it cost to charge an electric car at home?
Whilst the cost can vary depending on your energy tariff, Pod Point Solo 3S can be scheduled to only charge during specified times from the award-winning app. Typically, to charge an electric car at home costs around £13 for a full charge depending on the make and model of the car.

The bigger the battery, the more electricity you will require to have a full charge.
How long does it take to charge an EV at home?
With a 7kWh charger, you can charge a typical 60kWh electric car battery in around 8 hours. The Solo 3S is designed to charge at times that suit you. Many drivers charge their cars overnight meaning by the time you wake up for the morning commute, your car has more than enough juice.
Is the Pod Point Solo 3S compatible with solar panels?

Yes. The Solo 3S charger is compatible with all-electric cars and plug-in hybrids. Regardless of whether you use the tethered or untethered charging solution, you can charge up your PHEV.
